I have decided that I am going to have the best birthday EVER for my 24th birthday on October 9th!!! I already have everything I could ever need, so this is a perfect time for me to give back. For my birthday, I (and the family members I have recruited) will be performing 24 Random of Kindness around Charleston, South Carolina.

I first saw the idea over at Mix, Mingle, Glow when she did the same thing for her 38th birthday and our engagement photographer, Erin Hession (if you need a photographer in Indiana... she's your girl), did it for her 30th birthday. Go check out their birthday adventures, too!

Imagine how AWESOME the world we be if everyone performed just one random act of kindness a day. I will be posting
to my twitter account (@KatyRAOKS) every time we perform a RAOK. At the end of the day I will post everything
to this blog.

I hope that you will join with me on October 9th and perform at least one Random Act of Kindness!

RAOK #1: Left a treat for our mailman!

Our mail person is quite elusive. I couldn't even begin to tell you whether it is a male or female that delivers our mail every Monday-Saturday. I know the time frame they drop it off, but in the 5 months that we have lived in Charleston I have never seen them. I left a little note thanking them for delivering our mail and a bag of Twizzlers. When we got home after finishing the day, I opened the mailbox to find this:

You are very welcome, mail person! BUT thank you for not delivering any bills this weekend. :-)

RAOK #2: Dropped off muffins at our fire departments

Clay and I live in the middle of nowhere on an island. We actually have 3 fire departments within a five mile radius of our house. Our neighborhood's two entrances have one within half a mile of them. We don't know who would respond if something actually happened to our house, but we figured both of them could use some muffins. We dropped off some banana nut and wildberry muffins to both. All the guys seemed really excited to have breakfast delivered.

One of the departments actually just got this brand new truck. They tried to get me to get on it, but I convinced them a picture in front of it would suffice.
